Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther, former FNATIC Mid laner and currently of G2 Esports, is the star of the 458th Episode of 'Reflections'. This is episode three of three about Caps's career.

Caps is widely considered the best Western LoL player now and of all-time. He rose up as a talented but wild prospect in 2017 when FNATIC was still very much Rekkles's team. Despite a slip up at S7 Worlds the team made it to the play-offs anyway.

2018 saw Caps ascend individually and team-wise, as people began to acknowledge him as the best LEC player and FNATIC won both EU LCS splits. At S8 Worlds Caps and company went all the way to the final only to be beaten there by Rookie's iG. The 2018 off-season shocked the world as Caps chose to leave for rivals G2 where Perkz role-swapped to ADC to make space for him.

2019 is arguably the best year of League of Legends any Western side has played. G2 won both splits, took the MSI title and went as far as the final of Worlds, a back-to-back appearance for Caps specifically. G2 lost only a single Bo5 all year long.

2020 was the run-back, with the unusual difference of Caps and Perkz swapping roles with each other for the spring only to swap back for summer. G2 overcame some bumps along the way to win the split anyway. Similarly, they had some stumbles in summer but prevailed to win a fourth LEC crown in a row and six on the trot for Caps. That year's Worlds ended a play-off round earlier in the semi-finals.

2021 had Caps reunited with Rekkles but the team could not maintain early form and didn't win a title or make a final. 2022 was a bounce back as Caps even looked individually subdued by came alive in the play-offs to win another title and this time with a totally new set of botlane team-mates. They also made the summer final but Caps suffered his only ever finals loss as Rogue upset.

2023 and 2024 have been the era of the new three split format and Caps has been even more successful. Of a possible eight titles, six mini-splits and two season finals, Caps won all but Spring last year. Alas there has not been the kind of Worlds successful Caps and G2 likely hoped for.

In part three, Caps ponders the G2 super-team getting a third year, the significance of Perkz as a team-mate, his LCS offers, dealing with both success and failure and what he thinks Faker is the best at right now.

This interview was recorded on the 25th of November, 2024.
