A Letter from Abdu'l-Baha to a Handmaiden - Centenary of Ascension of Abdu'l-Baha Bahai Baha'i (Abdul-Baha Abdul Baha) Spiritual Happiness Life after death

This video is an original musical composition and recitation of a letter from ‘Abdu'l-Baha to a Handmaiden. The original recipient of this letter and the date it was written are unknown. The letter is known as "Surúr-i-Ruhání" in Persian - "On Spiritual Happiness"

During His lifetime, ‘Abdu'l-Baha wrote numerous letters to people from all walks of life, high and low and of differing racial and religious backgrounds, as well as to devoted Baha'i's including the many who wrote to Him specifically seeking solace and guidance. In His letters, ‘Abdu'l-Baha gave them comfort in times of sorrow, encouraged them to serve, aided them to rise from the trappings of their material existence, and raised their spiritual consciousness. Such service to humanity with no thought of self, while ‘Abdu’l-Baha was himself during much of this time frail and elderly, is a source of inspiration to all. This work was itself inspired by a dream of one of the artists who saw ‘Abdu’l-Baha speaking about the letters He was writing.

Not all images in this video are historically reflective of the period of 'Abdu'l-Baha's life.

Letter recited by Nahal Mavaddat with guitar by Frederick Bertram (composed and played).
