In 2017 The World Bank and the World Health Organisation's Global Monitoring Report stated that at least half of the world's population cannot obtain essential health services, with the most affected communities in the low and middle-income regions of the world. In this talk, Tafadzwa speaks about how technology and innovation are bridging the health access gap in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Tafadzwa Munzwa is an award-winning innovator, medical doctor, and avid researcher based at Livingstone Central Teaching
Hospital in Zambia. He is the co-founder and CEO of Dawa Health, a
digital health platform democratising access to maternal health. He is
also co-founder and COO of Denga Logistics, a medical drone start-up
that closes the medical gap by reaching the last mile in Sub-Saharan
Africa. Also, Tafadzwa is a Swiss-Africa Fellow (2020), Oxford-Africa
Fellow (2021), and a Tony Elemelu Entrepreneurship Programme beneficiary (2021). Through Dawa Health, he leading a team researching maternal outcomes with machine learning predictive tools.
