Cigoland in Alsace is a great little theme park in Kintzheim, France - less than an hour away from Basel. We explored it together with friends in August 2021 and absolutely fell in love with the setting, the kid-friendly rides and the local animals that life there.
Ride-on tractors, a monorail, waterpark, a roller-coaster and electric vehicles are just some of the attractions in the Stork Theme Park. We enjoyed a packed lunch but there are restaurants and snack bars available and the seating areas are right next to some epic playgrounds.

The "Vol de Cigogne" roller coaster, which weaves through the treetops, is offering breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and forests and the "Mini Ferme" lets children interact with farm animals.

A highlight of Cigoland is its dedication to preserving the rich traditions and cultural heritage of Alsace. The "Petit Monde des Cigognes" attraction showcases life-sized stork replicas, while "La Maison de l'Habitat Rural" exhibits traditional Alsatian houses with their characteristic timber frames and flower-filled balconies. Cigoland's jardin des Cigognes gardens add an extra touch of charm to the park, with a diverse collection of regional flora. The amusement park also features various live shows and entertaining performances. Puppet shows, magic or acrobatics, visitors are treated to an array of spectacles that created lasting memories for our whole family.

Undoubtedly, no trip to Alsace would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine. The park's restaurants and food stalls offer Alsatian specialties such as tarte flambée, choucroute garnie, and pretzels. For us Cigoland is more than just an amusement park; it is a celebration of Alsace's rich heritage and the perfect blend of rides, entertainment and culture.
