A look at Legion, X-Men Legacy, and New Mutants - All Things Legion

I have never been a huge fan of X-Men, so I was not familiar with the character of Legion. When the show Legion came out in 2017, I knew it was a Marvel property, so I checked it out. The show was very cool to watch, but I realized that I needed to go back and explore Legion in the comics to get everything out of the show, so that is what I did!

I wanted to start with this video, because this is largely one of the key inspirations for me to go back and look at some of the comics that I missed in the past.

In this case, I read the Legion Omnibus, which collects X-Men Legacy issues 1 – 25 written by Simon Spurrier. This then inspired me to go back and look at Legion’s first appearance in New Mutants issues 26 – 28 written by Chris Clairmont and art by Bill Sienkiewicz.

Those two stories painted a much fuller picture of who Legion was, and it gave me a great foundation to fully appreciate more of what was going on in the series.
