On Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM EST Professor Bart D. Ehrman and Dr. Michael R. Licona met at the Bailey Performance Center, Morgan Hall (Kennesaw Campus) Kennesaw, GA to debate: Are the Gospels Historically Reliable? Ratio Christi and KSU History Club hosted the event. Moderator was Dr. Brian Swain, a historian of the ancient Mediterranean world. He teaches courses on the Greek, Roman, and medieval pasts and on pre-modern history more broadly at Kennesaw State University. As part of the debate there was a open mic Q and A session with the audience. Book sales and signing followed.

At one point, Licona argues that sharing fake news occasionally on Facebook does not make you unreliable, equating this logic with the diverse issues found in the Gospels. Bart comments that if the Gospel's use of common and consistent geographic references makes them accurate is much like stating since Harry Potter got London correct that must mean Harry Potter is reliable. The debate is riveting to the very end.
