In the Spanish program at the School of International Letters and Cultures at ASU, students gain a level of proficiency that allows them to effectively communicate with native speakers while exploring fascinating cultural, literary and linguistic topics.

Being bilingual provides students with competitive advantages in today’s job market and beyond. Alumni who have finished a degree in Spanish have gone on to careers that range from politics and international affairs to healthcare, international business, academia and more.

The School of International Letters and Cultures also offers Spanish courses for heritage speakers through a program designed for students who were exposed to Spanish in the home, but may not have been in constant contact with the language while growing up. Students in the Spanish for heritage speakers program attain proficiency through a specialized curriculum in a setting with other students who share a similar experience.
