Ryzen 5 Mini PC for the Sound Cart? Will the T-Bao MN25 be quiet enough

Описание к видео Ryzen 5 Mini PC for the Sound Cart? Will the T-Bao MN25 be quiet enough

After using this for a week I can say it is indeed quiet, but not TOTALLY PERFECTLY QUIET either. In normal day to day usage as my main PC (definitely quite an upgrade from the $49 ex-lease office PC I had before!) then I can't hear a thing (however I live downtown, the ambient noise floor around here is quite high).

But at the end of the day, when the place is quiet, and I listen out for it, then yup, I can hear this PC subtly in the background.

At the very worst, I'd put this as comparable-ish to say an HMI ballast? (not the same sound at all, but just using it is a common reference point as to the level of it)

Which is good-ish performance, but also crosses the line to being "unacceptable" in my personal opinion. Especially as we're in the Sound Department, we ought to be leading by example in being quiet!

Need to look into seeing if I can underclock this PC to keep it quieter, and at last resort, swapping out the stock fan for a quieter one. Or using instead one of the fanless PCs I've ordered during the 11/11 Sales on Aliexpress.

(love Techtablets! Is also run by a Kiwi from NZ)

Filmed this video completely differently to normal, with the old Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (the original 1080 version!). Having a hard wired Senal CL6 Lavalier Mic running into a Sound Devices MM1, which was then fed directly into the BMPCC.
