Top News | Defense intermediary Sanjay Bhandari will be returned to India, according UK home secretary Suella Braverman's instruction. On January 12 of this year, Braverman issued an extradition request for Bhandari. From January 12 onward, Bhandari has 14 days to submit a request for permission to appeal both the judge's and the home secretary's ruling to the administrative court of the high court. The Indian government accuses Bhandari of violating the Black Money Act of 2015 and the Income Tax Act of 1961 by failing to disclose assets and income earned outside of India between July 1, 2015 and February 7, 2017, while he was a resident of India. Bhandari was arrested in London on July 15, 2020, and was released on conditional bail.
