In this video I will be discussing how to approach mixing melodic rap vocals. Pitch correction can have a huge impact on mixing melodic vocals. That can include something simple as Antares Autotune set and forget kind of style or a Melodyne approach where you get surgical. Once that has been taken care of, from my experience a lot of the "vibe" can come from EQ choices and Reverb settings. Also, I find myself compressing the vocals FAR less than I would a normal rap vocal. I try to keep as much of the dynamic performance as possible, I feel as if that is really important to keep in mind for vocals like these.
