Bodhi Nidra Level 4 is an easy to listen to yet powerful Buddhist meditation technique for total stress relief and inner peace. This is part one in a four part series introducing the core beginners concepts of a powerful Theravada Buddhist meditation practice, in a relaxed 'yoga-nidra-like' setting.
Phase 1: The Physical Body
Phase 2: The Emotions
Phase 3: The Mind
Phase 4: Consciousness

The source of Bodhi Nidra:
During the final days of the Buddha, he insisted that a set of teachings be set aside from the others. The most essential set of practices containing his form of meditation was extracted and given precedence. The first set of practices in this set of teachings is known in Theravada Buddhism as the 'Four Frames of Reference'. These are the four proper themes to meditate upon, including the physical body, feelings, thoughts and mental qualities. The meditator is to take any one of these themes as their frame of reference for observing and mastering him or herself. When ever anything is experienced the meditator is to observe the impact it has on the frame of reference without judging, over analyzing, or over concerning oneself with any implications the source of the stimulus might have in the world of duality; but simply learning to observe the codependent relationship between physical sensation, feelings and thoughts in-and-of-themselves. One gradually reveals their own subconscious reactions, thought patterns and belief structures. This empowers you to release and transcend tension no matter what the source might have been. The more we illuminate ourselves, the sooner that order and beauty can grow into our lives.
