In this video we examined Custom Elements, the CustomElementRegistry object, and Web Component Lifecycle hook connectedCallback. Specifically, we coded up custom element of own making, saw how the browser was fault tolerant and simply ignored it until we next full wired up its class representation and added it to the registry with customElements.define. We also saw the connectedCallback() lifecycle methods which is Invoked when the custom element has been connected to the document DOM.

Question: Is thinking of connectedCallback as web component's version of DomReady useful? Or is it a crutch? Tell me what you think in the comments :-)

This was the first of a series I hope to do on web components. Look for Shadow DOM and HTML templates to follow soon!
