Compelled to Build Together: Fransuer Mukula at TEDxBelfast

Описание к видео Compelled to Build Together: Fransuer Mukula at TEDxBelfast

Born in Kenya and now working in Belfast, Fransuer Mukula and his wife Rachael set up a charity 'Jengana' to relieve some of the extreme poverty that exists in Kenya.

The idea was inspired by Fransuer's own experiences. He was born in a village in North Eastern Kenya called Kitui, then grew up in Nairobi city in poverty. Despite this, due to the generosity and kindness of several 'good Samaritans' he managed to gain a scholarship to Nairobi University where he completed his degree in Sociology.

He now teaches RE at Campbell College, Belfast.

Fransuer talks at TEDxBelfast in Titanic Belfast about how focusing on individual lives cannot change the world, it can change the world for the individuals they touch.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
