From our Cyber-Physical Systems Lab at Ecole Centrale School of Engineering, Mahindra University, we are pleased to share the progress of our Stage-1 prototype of an All-Terrain Autonomous Electric Vehicle (AEV) with a 1-Ton load carrying capacity. This vehicle uses IMU and GPS sensor fusion with Kalman Filter algorithms to achieve accurate localization and point-to-point autonomous navigation, even across rugged and challenging terrains. Designed for use in industrial environments, mining operations, and logistics hubs, the AEV integrates a robust electric drivetrain with advanced control systems to deliver reliable and sustainable performance. This Stage-1 achievement demonstrates our commitment to developing indigenous autonomous mobility technologies in line with India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Green Mobility. As we move towards Stage-2 with enhanced autonomy and obstacle detection, we welcome collaborations for field trials and industrial partnerships to scale this innovation further.
