Today, we got cereal, and we got True Crime Serial Killer books, and we are pairing them up for National Cereal Day, Friday, March 7. We are going to let you know what cereals work best with these books.

If you pick up Devil in the White City by Eric Larson, it will pair nicely with Rice Krispies. The serial killer in Devil in the White City was a doctor. He terrorized the Chicago World's Fair in the 1800's. He had torture devices, a gas chamber, and a cremation center. Try not to think of him as your cereal snap, crackles, and pops.

You could go more the classic route with Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. This would pair nicely with Chex. The cereal and the book are definitive works of art. In Cold Blood is one of the first true crime stories published and Chex is a staple, a tried-and-true cereal. Paired together, they make an ideal pair.

If you plan to read The Inventor and the Tycoon by Edward Ball, try it with some Fruity Pebbles. The Inventor and the Tycoon chronicles the sudden descent into insanity of Eadweard Muybridge. Muybridge invented the use of stop motion photography, which became the modern-day movie. One night changed the course of his life, and his trial became a media sensation. His superb invention gave us TV masterpieces like the Flintstones.

If you crave variety with your cereal and always go for the little individual bowls, you won't regret paring that sugar high with The Case of the Vanishing Blonde: and Other True Crime Stories by Mark Bowden. Bowden's book is a collection of six stories spanning decades with –characters and unsettling crimes.
