Naruto: Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 4 (NARUTOナルト 激闘忍者大戦! 4, lit. Naruto: Great Ninja Battle! 4) is the fourth installment of this series. It was released in Japan in November 2005. It covers the events from the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Most noticeably, the game removes the shop feature and focuses on meeting certain criteria in the game's new Mission mode to unlock content. Mission mode pits the player against increasingly stronger opponents under specific circumstances and with different methods of winning in order to complete each mission. The new game called Three-Man Squad Mode, is selecting 3 characters to fight 3 opponents. This game was released exclusively in Japan.
