A leaking dishwasher doesn't just prevent your dishes from coming clean, but it can end up leaving a huge mess on your floor as well. Luckily, in this video Steve will take you through some of the common parts that can cause your dishwasher to leak, so you can figure out what's wrong with your dishwasher, and get it back in working order!

Click the links that appear on the screen during this video, or in the description below for a step-by-step guide to replacing each of these offending parts.

Here are the most common parts that could be malfunction and result in a leaking dishwasher:

DOOR GASKET (0:06)
The door gasket runs around the circumference of the dishwasher door, and if it is loose, torn, or damaged, it can cause water to leak out when the dishwasher is filled. Check out this video to see how to replace a damaged door gasket:    • Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair - How to ...

PUMP SEALS (1:06)
If the seal between the motor of the pump body has gone bad it can create a leak. If you notice water underneath the dishwasher, the pump seal should be inspected. If you need to replace the pump, here's a video that may help:    • GE Dishwasher Repair – How to Replace...

INLET VALVE/HOSE (1:48)
This is a good part to inspect if your dishwasher is only leaking while it is filling. You'll want to inspect the valve itself, as well as the hose and the associated clamps. Need to replace your inlet valve? Here's a video to help you out:    • Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair - How to ...

SPRAY ARM (2:28)
These are usually made of in two parts with a welded seam in the middle. A cracked seam can cause the spray pattern to aim at the bottom of the door where there's no tight seal. If you need to replace the spray arm, this video might help:    • Dishwasher Repair - Replacing the Upp...

FLOAT SWITCH (3:09)
A faulty float switch will prevent the dishwasher from regulating the amount of water that enters it, and this can result in a leak. In this case, you will need to check it for continuity with a multimeter (here's how to do that:    • Appliance Repair: How To Use a Multim...  ). DRAIN HOSE(3:44)
A leak in the drain hose is most commonly found where it connects with the drain pump. Inspect it for damage and replace it if necessary. Here's a video to help with that:    • Dishwasher Repair – Replacing the Dra...
