All my life, I have struggled in this loud, smelly, overstimulating world.

And today, I'd like to share a bit about the world that sits at the intersection of being Autistic, Black and wearing your hair long and naturally.

My hope is that this discussion sheds much-needed light on what it's like for us Autistic people getting our hair done, or doing it ourselves. I also hope it breeds some empathy for parents doing their Autistic Kid's hair at home, and for the people who give dirty looks to the crying Autistic Child in the Barbershop for the first (or 313th) time.
