Kayaking & Exploring the Infamous Staten Island Ship Graveyard in NYC

Join me as I explore the fascinating Staten Island Ship Graveyard. Experience an up close POV as I kayak alongside these massive abandoned ships left to decay in the Arthur Kill waterway. This marine scrapyard contains about 100 cargo ships, tugboats, and other vessels of the 20th century. This eerie and remote location has become a tourist attraction, despite it being difficult to access. I also paddle into Fresh Kills Park for a change of scenery. Fresh Kills Park was previously the largest landfill in the world, but closed in 2001. It is currently being converted into a public park as part of a multi-phase project. As usual, I had the place to myself and I loved getting close to these incredible pieces of history!
