Paris Paloma has big feelings, and by sharing them with her audience, she makes a big impression. The Brit singer says her songs are inspired by "a need for catharsis." Certainly, her breakout track “LABOUR” made that kind of impact on TikTok. Addressing the imbalance of woman living in a patriarchy, it lists a parade of traditional roles while indicting each for stereotyping half the planet. “All day, every day, therapist, mother, maid, nymph then a virgin, nurse then a servant, just an appendage, live to attend him, so that he never lifts a finger 24∕7, baby machine…” The song’s video is even more fierce. Currently getting ready for her first Glastonbury show, we had Paloma in to do both “LABOUR” and “The Warmth” from her pending debut album, ‘Cacophony,’ due August 30. Both the staging and performance are superb.
