One morning in the spring of 1994, in a dark wooden building in Xiaozhai Village, Longsheng County, Guangxi, Pan Nenggao, a nine-year-old first-grader, woke up early as usual, cooked breakfast for the whole family, and went to school with his classmate Pan Junquan. What was unusual was that two cameras were following them around, and more than 20 people came from far away from the mountains, saying they were filming for TV. The village people don't quite understand what these people are doing, there is no TV or radio here, and because it is so remote and isolated, newspapers are only occasionally read in the old ones. The ability to read the newspaper is basically limited to the teachers of Xiaozhai Complete Primary School......
1994年春天的一个清晨，广西龙胜县小寨村，一间黑黢黢的木楼里，九岁的一年级小学生潘能高照常早起，煮了全家的早饭，和同学潘军权一起去上学。非比寻常的是，有两架摄像机如影随形地跟随着他们，还有二十多个大老远从山外跑来的人，说是拍电视的。村里人不太明白这帮人在做什么，这里压根儿没有电视，也没有广播，因为太过偏远闭塞，报纸也只能偶尔读到旧的。有能力读报纸的人，基本上仅限于小寨完全小学的教师......
