Описание к видео 7 Life Stages of a Targaryen Dragon in HotD | GoT

In the world of a song of ice and fire, we get to see different dragons of different shapes and sizes. Some are big and old while some are young and small, which tells us that these creatures have a life cycle. So, What are the different life stages in a Targaryen Dragon’s lifetime. Well of course, things may be a bit vague and murky as these creatures gradually pass on from one phase in their life to another, just like any other animal but it is quite evident when we take in snapshots of them at specific points in their lifetime that are more or less equidistant in length of time.
Egg – Dragon eggs are described as large, oval objects, often comparable in size to a human head. They have hard, stone-like shells covered in scales, with each egg possessing a unique color and pattern, reflecting the colour of the dragon inside of it.
Hatchling – Newly hatched dragons are small, often described as the size of a cat or small dog, with soft, pliable scales and wings not yet strong enough for sustained flight.
Juvenile – So, when they grow bigger, they enter a stage where we can consider them as Juvenile dragons and these grow significantly larger and faster than hatchlings, often comparable to a large dog or upto the size of a small horse.
Flying age – After a few years of growing constantly, these Dragons would reach an age that is considered more or less as an equivalent of a young adolescent. They would grow to a size that allows them to sustain flight along with their rider on top of them
Fighting age – In George R R Martin’s world of a song of ice and fire, we often hear the dragons reaching a time in their life called their fighting age. Here, these dragons have grown to be large, formidable creatures with fully hardened scales which offer great protection from arrows or even larger bolts and their fire breath is near its peak.
Full grown – So, after a few years or decades, these dragons of fighting age would grow into their prime. These Fully grown dragons are immense, often described as rivaling the size of large ships or castles.
Old Age – It is said that Dragons which are free and not constrained within the Dragon pit would continue to grow indefinitely until they die. But there comes a time when these beasts are considered as Old dragons.
