Martin has long recognized the excellent tonal qualities of mahogany -- bright, clear trebles and a warm mid-range. As early as 1917 and up to the '40s, many Martin guitars were built with tops, sides and backs of mahogany. Today the 15 SERIES continues this tradition with solid, all mahogany (or sapele, a close relative) construction.
