Aladdin is a 1992 animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It is considered the 31st Disney Classic according to the official canon and is the fourth film of the Disney Renaissance era. The film was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and is based on the famous Persian tale of Aladdin and the wonderful lamp contained in the collection of oriental short stories The Thousand and One Nights. The cast of original voice actors consists of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Gilbert Gottfried, Frank Welker and Douglas Seale.
