To coincide with the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary, we've been working on a full English fan dub for the 1986 anime film, "Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!"
This film holds the distinction of being the first ever movie to be made about a video game, coming out just before Super Mario Bros. 2 on the original Famicom/NES, but it was never released outside of Japan! So, since most of us have wanted to get into voice acting, we saw this as a worthy first project to dive headfirst into. Specifically, I wanted to frame this dub as if it were rereleased today as a Blu-Ray extra. So while most of the script is based off of Kineko Video's existing translation, I did make some of my own tweaks and added some modern Mario-isms so that this feels more familiar to a modern audience. Even so, I tried to preserve the spirit of the original movie because it's still a fun time! We hope you enjoy!
