Dry Plate Positive Orotones

Описание к видео Dry Plate Positive Orotones

Welcome to another photo technique video. This time we're looking at my technique for producing Dry Plate Positive Orotone's on Glass.

Dry plate photography has been around for a long time and is usually done with a large format camera and glass plates producing a negative image. I wanted to produce a positive image and display the glass plate as the finished artwork. This involved 'reverse' processing which can be very difficult to achieve so I created this contact printing technique working from a digital negative.

Orotone images are basically any image that has a yellowish colour (gold, bronze, copper etc;) and is therefor more of a process than a technique. Hopefully you will enjoy and I apologise to any purists out there that think I'm nuts!
