This is the Magicka Warden for The Ascending Tide DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online
In this video, I am using a static rotation. In my search for a magicka warden, I found myself missing the good ol magicka based shalks. I've always been a lot more fond of that morph, so I wanted to see what kind of damage it could pull. Keep in mind, this is 100 percent not the most optimized setup for warden. There are a ton of videos out there that could prove that. We're still using the 2h backbar because of the sheer amount of damage that it can pull. Sustain is a bit rough on both resources so I had to run food that gives me some stam recovery; and pair it will the betty netch. Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this. I always have loved the warden, and I often miss it.
There have been some major changes within the game in regards to more "hybridization" for all characters. The goal is that all skills, sets, buffs, passives, gear, etc. will effect both magicka and stamina set ups. This has opened up some unique changes, so this patch will be very fun and different.
For the Mundus, I went with The Thief
For the Food I'm using Crunchy Spider Skewer. This gives me and increase in max magicka by 4592 and stamina recovery by 459.
For the race, I am a dark elf. The difference between high elf, dark elf, and khajit are all very close. Basically, your race shouldn't make or break you. That being said, if you are to choose a Khajit, you will have to do some things differently in regards to champion points to make sure you are not over the critical damage cap.
Skills:
Front Bar - Cutting Dive, Barbed Trap, Deep Fissure, Fetcher Infection, Betty Netch, Wild Guardian
Back Bar - Scalding Rune, Carve, Barbed Trap/Flex Spot, Winter's Revenge, Stampede, Wild Guardian
Rotation:
Just like all 2h backbar builds, the beginning of the rotation is a bit different, so I can get my full stacks of carve. This makes the rest of the rotation much easier.
Opening:
Netch - Shalks - Rune - Trap
Shalks - Stampede - Carve
Shalks - Winter's Revenge - Fetcher
Shalks - Ult - Carve
Shalks - Rune - Cutting Dive
Shalks - Stampede - Netch
Shalks - Winter's Revenge - Fetcher
Shalks - Trap - Carve
Shalks - Rune - Spammable
Repeat:
Shalks - Stampede - Skill/Netch
Shalks - Winter's Revenge - Fetcher
Shalks - Skill/Carve - Skill/Trap
Shalks - Rune- Skill/Trap
For the parts that say "skill" I am either recasting my trap, refreshing my carve, refreshing my betty netch, or casting a spammable. I usually refresh my netch after my stampede, and my carve will usually happen after the fetcher portion of the rotation. You can make this even more simple by letting your trap fall off and recasting it every other rotation after your carve. I've always had good luck with letting trap fall off for a little while and still being able to hit good numbers. This is all personal preference and really what your goals are for dps.
If you're struggling with mag sustain you can always put spell symmetry on your backbar in your flex spot. That's always been a good option. Plus in raid you'll have access to more synergies and sets like Symphony or Hollowfang that will help with your sustain.
In execute, nothing changes until the very end of the fight. I will only cast skills that I know will get most of their duration and then I'll usually finish the fight with a combo of shalks - spammable - spammable.
