Voicemeeter explanation (from an audio noob)!

No I do not use an expensive podcast soundboard setup. It's literally just a few apps combined. Bugbot's "mic" is actually the B1 output from Voicemeeter, which I use to combine my TTS (text-to-speech) app with my sound effects app. Those two apps are sent to voicemeeter using virtual cables, and then the TTS audio goes through a patch insert to Cantabile for his VST plugins. After that it goes out to my B1 output, which serves as his "mic" and can be used as an input in other apps.

You can apply the same setup if you want to play music through your mic or add a soundboard to it (VM actually has a soundboard of its own I think).

Voicemeeter can also be used to just combine audio into a much more organized system. My intro to it was literally wanting to use my speakers and headset at the same time (extremely stupid) so I've been using it for years now. If you want something more user friendly, consider getting into Elgato's Wavelink ecosystem.
