Enjoy this train ride on the Denali Star from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a 12 hour train ride condensed into about a hour and a half of video. In many parts of Alaska there are no roads where people are living, and they are totally dependent on the train. You will see some of those people in this video.

In this video we travel over the 918 foot long, 296 foot tall Hurricane Gulch Bridge, as well as the Mears Memorial Bridge, which at 700 feet long is one of the longest single span bridges in the world. The weather starts sunny and nice, and ends in rain and overcast which is very common for Alaska.

Alaska sure does have a enormous amount of trees. It seems there are billions of trees out there. This was a fun train ride but slow going. Much of the landscape has changed little since the railroad was founded. Video was taken September, 2015.
