Filtration of honing oil is a massive challenge for manufacturers. Ideally, the filtering process should be as effective at capturing particles as possible while having minimal flow restriction through the filter.
Traditionally, manufacturing companies rely on multiple filtration technologies to address this issue, including gravity filtration systems like the paper band, the compact band, the vacuum band systems. While these technologies can be effective for particles larger than 15 microns, they are inappropriate for capturing dust like (5-10 microns) particles.
