117] Painting ALCOHOL INK Jellyfish - Full Spoken Tutorial

Let’s paint abstract alcohol ink jellyfish! I show and explain, step by step, how I made this painting using Kielty Inks, their layering solution (to protect parts of the painting I didn’t want at risk), a couple of Copic markers and a Posca brush marker.

= SEALING / VARNISHING =

To seal an alcohol ink piece I use a museum quality spray by Krylon: Kamar Varnish. Unlike most spray varnishes and acrylic sprays, it will not react with the alcohol inks.

If done on something paper thin like photo paper, Duralar, or Yupo, the piece can be framed under glass or acrylic without being sprayed. Avoid placing alcohol ink work where it will be exposed to direct sunlight however. Though Kielty Inks are less vulnerable, some inks can fade in the sun... eventually.
