The aquatic insects with the biggest size are giant water bugs. Giant water bugs are busy to protect its own eggs which look alike cantaloupes. Mating Process starts with the enthusiastic courtship of the male. After mating is done, the giant water bug immediately prepares to spawn. The male stays with the female and helps her spawning. Giant water bug lay eggs inside the bubble made of musilage, which plays critical role for protecting eggs from the wind and the predators. The male pushes out the female after spawning because females tends to eat her eggs if she feels hunger.
Giant water bugs keep protecting their eggs until hatching.

The male appasus knocks the surface of the water for the courtship display. Appasuses do mating for multiple times. Female appasus lays eggs on the back of the male appasus, because it is the most safe way to protect eggs from predators. Thanks to the sacrifice of the male appasus, baby appasuses can grow safely. Male appasus helps young appasuses to get out of their eggs well by shaking its own body.
