The Hidden Camera Danger: How High Voltage Fried my Camera - Beware of Dummy Batteries!

A few weeks ago, I destroyed my Canon EOS R… now it's back, and I want to tell you how it happened and how it will (hopefully) never happen to you!

Using continuous power with my cameras has always been necessary for my workflow (I hate a camera shutting off because the battery is empty… especially while filming in my studio). So dummy batteries are the solution. Using the ACK-E6 from Canon is not really a great one since that is super expensive… but with 3rd party solutions you really have to know your stuff because it's easy to break your camera.
