Metrolink is a regional railway network in Southern California that connects the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego counties. This video features Metrolink's special holiday train service traveling from Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles to Downtown Riverside for the 'Festival of Lights' hosted by the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa and the City of Riverside.

This is the 25th anniversary of the Riverside Festival of Lights, a popular family holiday tradition across SoCal. The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa has been decorated with more than 5 million Christmas lights, 200 animated characters, fresh fallen snow, candy themed-decor, the largest mistletoe in he world, and more. It's one of the largest holiday light shows in the United States! Wonder family fun for a family weekend on the train.

The train takes you the Downtown Riverside Station, where you catch a FREE RTA shuttle bus directly to the festival. The shuttle buses are constantly coming and going; we was always saw at least one bus present.

Primarily a commuter service, many of Metrolink's railroad lines operate only Monday through Friday. The railway also connects with Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, Coast Starlight, Southwest Chief, and Sunset Limited trains, as well as Metro Los Angeles trains, the San Diego Coaster and Sprinter trains. Metrolink is under the Southern California Regional Rail Authority.

Metrolink's bi-level fleet mostly consists of EMD F59PH and EMD F125 diesel-electric locomotives, as well as Hyundai Rotem Cab Car and Bombardier BiLevel coaches.
