Trophyline Mission Platform - Mods & Camo Paint Upgrade

Описание к видео Trophyline Mission Platform - Mods & Camo Paint Upgrade

I scored this Trophyline Mission saddle hunting platform on Craigslist and it was in really nice shape, but I decided to improve it with some fairly simple alterations. The first change I made was to use a couple Nicholson files to the remove the rough and jagged seams from the casting process. This was a nice improvement to the feel and finish of the base. After disassembling the platform, the next functional modification was to drill some holes for a keeper screw and water drainage. To accomplish this, I add a simple 1/4" hole in the bottom of the black plastic cap on the bottom of the post to let any potential moisture out. Rain and moisture can drip down the post and into the cap with the current design, so this was a no-brainer. For the keeper screw, I drill a 1/4" hole through the front of the post cap, and follow that up with a 3/16" hole for use with a 1/4-20 tap. I run the tap through the 3/16" hole with my Flexbar hand tapping tool and verify the thread is good. I end up using a 1/2" long stainless steel button head 1/4-20 screw. This mod ensures I won't accidentally lose the tilt adjustment end cap. The old Lone Wolf Assassin platforms had this feature, and I believe Trophyline should have Novix add it to the Mission and EDP platforms. Until then, this mod will work. The last change I give this platform is a major finish upgrade. I decided to do the sponge camo spray paint method and chose Rust-Oleum light gray automotive primer and the full set of Rust-Oleum camouflage paints for this pattern. The camo colors include black, earth brown, deep forest green, army green, khaki, and sand. I didn't end up using black for this pattern, but I really like how it turned out. I hope you take something away from this video and decide to make these DIY improvements to your own platform as well. You could obviously do this sponge spray paint camo upgrade to a Tethrd Predator, Predator XL, Cruzr Seeker, Trophyline EDP, the Eastern Woods U.P. one-sticking stick, or any other platform, stick, or stand. Thanks for watching!
