Pace – Although we have cards in the game already at 99 pace, Carlos Alberto is more than fast enough to keep up with any attacking player even without a chemistry style boost. If I missed a tackle with him or dragged him out of position, his pace allowed him to recover from my defensive mistakes.

Dribbling – As Carlos Alberto is more of a defensive fullback, I think his dribbling ability is good overall. His agility is decent for someone in his position and it allows him to turn quickly enough both on and off the ball. Ball control is probably the stand out stat in the dribbling category, he never allowed the ball to get too far away from him when taking a touch which makes a big difference in defence. His dribbling itself didn’t cause me any issues, attacking wise you can take the ball down the wing without him taking heavy touches or losing control.

Shooting – Again he is more of a fullback so he does not offer too much in terms of shooting. Because of his shot power, I did manage to force a few decent saves out of the goalkeeper from around the edge of the box. His penalties at 83 allows him to be a decent option if you end up in a penalty shootout.

Defending – This is where to card really performs and is one of the main reasons why you would use Carlos Alberto. He is by far the best defensive fullback I have used this year. His interceptions and defensive awareness put him in the right place to cut off attacking options for your opponent and just having him in my team made a massive difference to the amount of goals I conceded. Both his standing tackle and slide tackle were exceptional and he always wins the ball when going in for a tackle. His 90 reactions also allows him to react quickly against rebound type opportunities or if the ball is loose on the pitch.

Passing – This really surprised me in game. His short passing lives up to his 91 stat and he never misplaced a simple pass in short yard situations. His long passing stat wise really is quite bad but in game it was really good for me. I don’t know if it’s because he has 87 vision but both along the floor and in the air his long-range passes were up there with what I have seen from passing based midfielders. The only negative I noticed is that he does have quite low curve so before passing the ball off with him look to see if there is a defender between him and the player you want to pass the ball to.

Physical – Another key area of Prime Carlos Alberto is his overall physicality. Being 5’11 with 84 jumping makes him good in the air which is important when defending against crosses to the back post. 90 stamina is ideal for someone in his position and it allows him to run all game without getting noticeably tired with normal use. His strength and aggression are part of the reason why his tackling ability is so good. His strength allows him to push attackers off the ball easily and his aggression in the tackle means that more often than not he will come out with the ball. The only negative I found was his balance, which although as a stat comes under the dribbling category, I noticed it impact his physicality more than his dribbling. Sometimes if Carlos Alberto is put under pressure or tackled he stumbled after the challenge which can sometimes lead to your opponent having a dangerous attack.

Skill moves and weak foot – 3 star skill moves is not a weakness for me personally given the position he plays. But if you do plan on using him in more of an attacking role, then 4 star skill moves might be more ideal. However, his 4 star weak foot is a positive of the card and when it came to passing on his left foot it never seemed to struggle in terms of power or accuracy.
