For many different reasons, Sonic Frontiers ended up being a huge success! A more serious story, more ambitious game play, a renewed focus on the characters! But did this new focus work? Is the extended cast any more important by the end of Frontiers than they were after Sonic Forces? Despite spending the last 10 + years in character limbo, Tails is still a very strong fan favorite character and one of the most well known in the Sonic the Hedgehog series! Becoming only the second hero to be introduced and the sidekick of the world famous Sonic the Hedgehog all the way back in Sonic 2 in 1992! Through the Death Egg saga, Perfect Chaos, the Ark incident with Shadow the Hedgehog, Neo Metal Sonic, The Time Eater, Infinite? Tails has been by Sonic's side through it all, but that last decade has been very tough for his character. So how does he fair in Sonic Frontiers? After such a long time of being stuck on the sidelines and being completely inconsequential, is it even possible to revive the character of Miles Tails Prower to his former glory? The Hero we seen during the Adventure era. There is a lot of rebuilding that needs to be done here to return our beloved fox boy to his former self! So let's analyze how Tails fit into the story of Sonic Frontiers, and how it might impact his character going forward! Ian Flynn has done a LOT of good for the IDW Sonic series, but does that transfer to his first time writing for the game series? A character analysis of Tails in Sonic Frontiers anyone?
