On Thursday, November 3, Crohn's and Colitis Canada were the hosts of New Frontiers: An Evening to Support Crohn’s and Colitis Canada held at the Fairmont Royal York in downtown Toronto. The evening commenced with a cocktail and networking opportunity before dinner where guests were treated to guest speakers Paula Sojoro and Adam Scully who discussed challenges and hopes for the future of living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Guests learned about research projects underway from five esteemed Crohn’s and Colitis Canada pathfinders as they discussed how their projects are currently forging new paths when it comes to IBD research. All five competed to secure some additional funding for their research projects.

The MC for the evening was Liz West from CTV, CityTV, CHCH, and Amazon Prime and judges included Jon Erlichman of CTV's Bloomberg Markets and Christine Simpson of Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada.

Researchers who competed for the New Frontiers funding included Dr. Brumer (University of British Columbia), Dr. Caminero (McMaster University), Dr. Coombes (Master University), Dr. Tropini (University of British Columbia) and Dr. Verdú (McMaster University).
