A throwback to 4 dogs arrivals at our rescue. Atos, Cindy, Lola and Rufus.

Atos arrived with us in April 2022 and has since been adopted. He had spent 3 years in a pound in Bosnia before he was taken in by a lovely lady over there who could see he had to potential to be a loving boy. He spent 7 months with us in pack rehabilitation and it was January 2023 that we started to feel that he might be ready to try life in a home. He had a couple of short fosters and then in February he went on his 3rd foster with Hannah and Andrew who are now part of the failed foster family.

Cindy came to us in March 2022, having been brought over from Romania by another rescue as a 5 month puppy. She was absolutely terrified and had clearly suffered some trauma as she only had half a tail and scars over her eye. The people who adopted her loved her dearly but she simply could not cope as an only dog. She lived on the landing for 3 months and refused to go, behavourists unable to help her. We were asked to step in and from the moment she arrived it was clear when Cindy needed – to be with other dogs. Our pack let her know she was safe here and pack rehabilitation started almost instantly and she blossomed into a beautiful playful girl. Earlier this year we sent Cindy to our daycare family Daycare 4 Dogs to see if they could help bring her on some more and get her home ready. We were blown away by the photos that came back. The whole team worked with her but it was Charlotte who created an extra special bond and became the love of her life. Charlotte decided to adopt Cindy, and there is no-one better to guide this special girl through life, to make her feel safe and loved and help her continue to grow. Cindy won the doggy lottery but for Charlotte it is the other way round.

Lola arrived with us in January 2022, she had been hiding in a box at a shelter in Romania. She watched, she learned and she is back to being a dog again. Interested in life, playing with her friends, curious and joyful. She is now a dog who is calm and open to learning and trusting. Rather than shut down or in panic mode. She is like a different dog and that’s the power of pack rehabilitation. Lola is still in our care now and lives happily with her pack mates.

Rufus arrived with us in May 2022 and was clearly a lovely boy who had some nervousness and trust issues but luckily we found him a foster home where he settled really well. Rufus really did have luck on his side when we received an enquiry from Helen and her family who had recently lost their dog and so we arranged for them to meet him with his foster family. They have transformed Rufus’ life who now has a wonderful forever home.
