Old School Bundeswehr Gear Overnighter | -5°C | Jägerrucksack | BW Axe | Feldparka | Poncho Shelter

Using mostly Bundeswehr gear from the 80s I hike out with two friends on a frosty and sunny winter day. We pass frozen waterfalls and find a nice camp site with mossy ground. We build our shelter with simple ponchos. I use only the famous Bundeswehr pocket knife, also related to "BW Stumpf" by many soldiers since it was mostly dull due to the lack of adequate sharpening devices. I make fire using the Bundeswehr axe, the BW Stumpf and a fire steel, only using wood from a dead standing spruce tree. I use the Bundeswehr Faltmatte as ground insulation which also back up as a back stiffening for my Jäger Rucksack. As the night falls I attach the old flash light to my Field Parka. We cook Älpler Magronen over the open fire using the Pig Pot and infantry cutlery. We enjoy the silence by the crackling fire and fall asleep to the flames of the warmth of the fire. The next morning we get up to a sunny day. I use "Hosengummis" to attach my canvas trousers to my Lundhags Forest Boots. We prepares some hot Coffee over the fire, clean the site and pack up.
