Expert tips for organizing an MTG-Players collection

Описание к видео Expert tips for organizing an MTG-Players collection

Quick note: I accidentally had a version of this video uploaded that was missing the last 5 min. Sorry about that. This is the fixed version.

This video is focusing on the questions that surround the grouping of cards in a huge collection... that's focused on building and playing decks. And along with that, a collection that contains many cards of great value. It seems like a simple question but there are some things which took a long time to occur to me. Or to realize why those methods don't work.

Here's the problem... I have about 36k cards in my collection. That's with almost NOTHING that exists with more then 4 copies. My HIGHLY refined and HIGHLY organized collection is equivalent to many other people who have over 500k cards because most of the team people have incredible amounts of repeats. Still though, 36k cards is a lot... and when you are attempting to build decks with a given format in mind then you don't want to go searching through the master archive every time you need a single card. Just the section for Blue cards that start with S is almost 1400 cards!

So what is a good way to maintain a physical collection of cards, while keeping track of your inventory, yet keeping the card-pool from your current format ready to access, while finally keeping your most expensive cards ready to quickly secure in a safe place? In this video I show you guys how I do it.

I'm sure people WILL complain about the claim of being an "expert" at this... well some articles like this one do seem to agree with that claim if you surpass 10,000 hours at something.

The fact of the matter is... I might very well be over 10,000 hours of using my cards, then organizing them, and spending much of that time thinking about HOW to organize them after using them. Anybody whom has played MTG for almost 25 years and has a collection even close to what I'm showing you here would probably agree.

Anyways, please let me know what you guys think!
