When we were backpacking in Egypt we took the train from Luxor to Aswan and then from Aswan up to Cairo. While we had heard a lot about the sleeper train, we didn't know that there was a much cheaper option to get a seat on the normal train! We didn't want to pay the $120/$170 for the sleeper train when we were paying much less than that every night in an airbnb. So we booked tickets for $19 each for a seat on the train from Aswan to Cairo. While the journey took close to 15 hours,
