Many of time the question comes in your mind whether my baby is emptying my breast or not this is very correct. As you know rightly if the baby is not emptying your breast the production will not increase because the breast milk production it works on demand and supply if your breasts getting empty regularly next time there will be more production. If the breast is not emptying properly the production will not increase with next feeding. So it's very important to check whether the breast is empty. So usually what we say to the mother post feeding once your baby fed and your baby satisfied that says your baby might need that much milk only try expressing your milk for 10 minutes from the same breast and see how much milk you're able to express out from the same breast if you think you are able to express more than three to seven ml at the time post feeding that says your baby is not really able to empty your breast if you're not able to express more than 3 – 7 ml from one breast from where you went that says approx baby has emptied your breast but if you can see post feeding if you're able to express milk out 10 to 20 ml and more that says the baby have not really effectively transfers milk out so this is a one thing you should be able to check. Why I am saying 3 ml to 10 ml is common because there is a possibility baby might take little here and there so 10 ml is safe this is not considered as baby has not emptied but beyond regularly you are able to express 10 15 ml more that says your baby is not emptying properly or you have more supply than your baby need.
