In this video, we’re going to talk about the risk of calcium supplements, primarily calcium carbonate.

What is calcium carbonate?
Calcium carbonate is a form of calcium that’s basically limestone. It’s rocks, and it’s in many of the most popular multivitamin supplements. You would be better off chewing on the rocks outside—it’s not meant for humans.

When you lose stomach acid, your blood pH becomes more alkaline too. When the blood becomes too alkaline, you can’t absorb calcium. Calcium is very alkaline. You need a very acidic stomach and the right blood pH to absorb calcium.

Vitamin D takes the calcium from your stomach and concentrates it into the blood. From the blood, vitamin F takes it into the tissues and bones. If you’re consuming calcium carbonate and excess vitamin D, and you’re not consuming vitamin F, you’re going to have a lot of calcification problems. A good source of vitamin F is flax oil.

Healthy sources of calcium:

• Fermented milk sources (cheese, yogurt, kefir)
• Greens
• Almonds
• Sea kelp
