July 2024 Outdoor Marijuana Grow

Hello everyone! It's the end of July and the plants seem to be doing pretty well. There are several problems this year that can be corrected for the next year's grow. The grow area has twice as many plants as it should so I need to double my grow area for the same amount of plants. That will make next year's grow twice as efficient when it comes to producing pounds per dollars.

I will also incorporate cal/mag fertilizer earlier on to try and prevent some of these deficiencies. Pests and mildew/mold can be a problem most years so I will always have to keep a watchful eye out for those problems. Luckily, I haven't seen any powdery mildew. Having the greenhouse cover off and giving the plants direct sunlight helps prevent pest and mildew problems.

In the second half of July, I started giving the plants 1 part vegetative and 1 part flowering fertilizer (FoxFarm time released) at a rate of four heaping tablespoons per plant. This will be changed to the all flowering fertilizer for the month of August. I will switch to all organic fertilizers for the month of September. I will stop adding fertilizer in early October which will start flushing nutrients out of the plants and buds for a nice clean and healthy harvest.

The budget I have for this years grow is $1,000 and I am hopeful to average a couple of pounds per plant. If I can grow 40 pounds for $1,000 that would be +/- $25 per pound. I should be able to safely average a minimum of a pound per plant so I'd bet this grow will produce buds at a cost of $25-$50 per pound of good buds.

It's not over till the fat lady sings. I still have to get through this grow which is at risk for pest, mold, mildew, storm, frost/freeze damage and all without being robbed. There is still a lot on the line and security will be increased tremendously come the months of September and October until I harvest.
