Inspector Gadget (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Inspector Gadget (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Hudson Soft's 1993 license-based platformer for the Super Nintendo, Inspector Gadget.

Do any of you guys remember the Inspector Gadget? My sister and I watched it all the time as kids. It centered around a detective (whom was, amusingly and appropriately enough, played by Don Adams) who was totally inept. He had tons of gizmos and (dare I say?) gadgets like extendable arms and helicopter hats that would get him into trouble as much as they would help. He constantly relied on his niece, Penny, and his dog, Brain, to bail him out of trouble, and the chief, who would ill-advisedly give Gadget his mission orders via self-destructing notes.

The game follows its namesake well. Like many 8 and 16-bit license-based platformers put out by Hudson (and Taito, for that matter), Inspector Gadget in no way reinvents the wheel, but it's a charming, competently put together game that perfectly delivers on whatever expectations came with the license. It's a cheerful, breezy, light-hearted affair with appealing graphics and music, solid controls, and forgiving mechanics. It makes good use of its license to give the platforming its own unique identity, and it doesn't out-stay its welcome with unnecessary collect-a-thons and huge maze-like stages. It's a lot of fun and deserves a play, even if you're likely able to clear it a short afternoon.

And I still so, soooooo badly want his Interceptor-edition Delorean.

I also really like how the noise when you enter a bonus stage sounds like how when Link teleports in A Link to the Past.
