The owner of Northgate Mall has a new plan for its development.

Northwood Investors - who purchased the mall in 2018 - now plans to re-develop the site for commercial purposes only. They had originally shared a plan that included residential housing as well.

The 58-acre site is north of downtown, bordered by Guess Road, I-85, Club Boulevard, and Gregson Street.

Developers are now seeking a rezoning for their new concept, which only includes commercial. However, Thursday evening people of Durham were invited to weigh in on the future of the mall – and share their thoughts with the developer.
