Solaris Trollino 12 trolleybuses on the streets of Bucharest - 4K

New polish Solaris Trollino 12 low-floor trolleybuses began their operation on the streets of Bucharest, part of the STB public-transport fleet.

The Bucharest Municipality bought 100 trolleybuses from the polish company Solaris for approximately 58 million Euros (excluding VAT).

The trolleybuses are Trollino 12 models. They are 12 meters in length, have a fully lowered floor and can carry up to 90 passengers (27 seated).

They can also be battery operated when needed and have a minimum range of 20 kilometers on battery power. As such, they will serve different transport lines in Bucharest where they will switch from wired to battery power on different sections of the route. First line to operate this way is the 61 line, taking over the route from the now defunct 336 line.
