Drummer in the woods! Deep in this dark dense old growth pocket of the boreal forest in northern Alberta, Canada, a secretive red-phased ruffed grouse male struts along a mossy log and drums for all the forest creatures within ear shot can hear. This ruffed grouse drummed every morning at the same time on the same log until he finally found a mate.
