Pella: Discover Dutch Heritage in the Heartland - Exploring at Tulip Time

Pella, Iowa is the most Dutch town you can find in the US - it is also the boy hood home of Wyatt Earp. It is a charming town to visit anytime of year to take in the dutch buildings, food and incredibly friendly people. If you can go in the Spring time you are in for a treat. The town plants over 300,000 tulips in the public parks, and the residence and buisness owners adorn the town with even more. The tulip fest, which is held the first weekend of May, brings in visitors by the bus load. And whilethis is a great time to take in a parade and other festivities, if you can head to Pella during the weeks before and after the festival, you should still be able to tip toe through the tulips.
